Ignacio Gavilan
Advisor and Sustainability Consultant

Ignacio has a wealth of international sustainability management & sustainability supply chain experience. He recently completed a bespoke project for the United Nations - FAO (Food & Agriculture Organisation) on the sustainability risks to global crop production. He also developed the Global Sustainability Strategy for BP Biofuels with an emphasis on management systems and standards development across their supply chain. Ignacio also established and managed McDonald’s global Corporate Social Responsibility program for 5,000 international suppliers and foreign local providers. He conducted assessments of vendors’ production and business practices and made recommendations of preferred suppliers with consideration of duties, tariffs, and local and national taxes.

Recently as a consultant he has lead, supported, guided and structured the CSR & sustainability strategic planning process for several organisations. Provides an independent perspective that helps companies to define, prioritize and clarify strategic decisions and policy guidelines. Most recent projects included analysis of Sustainability scorecards for projects financed by Development Banks, Dow Jones Sustainability index, FTSE4Good, and analysis of environmental risks involved in future investments: Water risks, Biodiversity impacts, Land Stewardship. He has also developed effective and appropriate strategic road maps / implementation plans, guidance on Government Relations and other external/internal stakeholder engagement processes, supporting communications as appropriate to the project.
